Usain Bolt vowed to make it up to a fan after a framed pair of running spikes signed by the Olympic champion, were stolen from an industrial site on Gloucester Road, Croydon.
Bolt tweeted the about the incident saying:
I know u love me..but please why u had to go stealing that signed Usain Bolt spikes in Croydon, England..I know u going to return it. Right?
The orange Puma shoes were worn by Bolt in his 2009 record setting 100m dash and are estimated to be worth about £20,000. The shoes which were framed with a photo of the six-time Olympic gold medallist were won at a Sotheby’s sporting memorabilia auction in November 2012.
Usain tweeted a picture of himself signing a new pair of shoes with a promise to make up for the loss.
