Labelle: The Musical – Coming to London in October

Labelle The Musical is coming to the West End this autumn. Get ready to enjoy the story of one of the most iconic black female groups of the 60s and 70s.

Shilohway Entertainment UK is excited to announce a new musical spotlighting the coming of age and journeys of Nona Hendryx, Sarah Dash, Cindy Birdsong and Patti LaBelle. From their origins as The Del-Capris merging with The Ordettes then becoming The Bluebelles, before finally becoming a girl group like none other: Labelle.

Through music that had never been heard before, Labelle spoke with conviction and confidence to audiences. Their music includes songs such as The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, Get You Somebody New, and Messin’ With My Mind, not to mention sensual and sexual overtures like Going Down Makes Me Shiver and You Turn Me On. Labelle took the image of the popular girl group to the next level as boisterous, outspoken women whose voices commanded attention.

Labelle was the first woman-led rock band to combine gospel roots with electrifying funk, soul, and rock. The band toured the world to sold-out audiences, garnering new fans wherever they went. They were the first contemporary music act and Black female vocal group to perform at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Labelle’s creative costume designs and powerful vocals led them to great heights and garnered millions of fans. With the success of their 1974 smash hit Lady Marmalade, these ladies proved that nothing could stop them!

Labelle: The Musical premieres Friday, 7 October 2022, in the Grand Hall at De Vere Grand Connaught in the West End. Attendees can look forward to an all new theatre dining experience, including all you can eat international cuisine.
